We know that you have been wondering about 2021 and news has been a long time coming. As you can imagine, these past few months have been a time of waiting, wondering and discernment regarding the possibilities. We have had dates at Sanctum on hold in order to give us time to make the right decision. With everything taken into consideration, we have finally made the difficult decision not to offer CISHI 2021 in any format. You can be sure that this was not a choice made easily. CISHI has become such a special and unique community and we would have loved to have us all together again. Because the beautiful Sanctum Retreat Centre – the warm staff, the spectacular location, the delicious food – are such an integral part of the CISHI experience, we have also decided not to offer an online programme.

CISHI’s truly unique offering is most richly experienced when we are together at Sanctum, able to share throughout the whole week, both in our planned activities as well as in the many spontaneous moments that create such a strong and enduring community. For this year, there is just too much still up in the air for us to be able to plan a Live session with any certainty. Be it international travel, harp rentals and moving, logistics onsite etc, there are so many aspects that we just can’t anticipate how they will look. Instead we will wait patiently – covid is certainly giving us ample opportunity to practice that – and do our best to keep close in other ways.

We are here for you! Please feel free to reach out to us by email info@cishi.ca or social media. Send us your thoughts, ideas, fun memes etc. We’d love to know how you are doing!

Blessings and love to you all during this holiday season and throughout the coming year! We look forward to sharing music, love, laughter and joy with you again when it’s safe.

Planning is well underway and registration is now open. Can’t wait to see old friends and to welcome new ones into the CISHI family!

Busy day today with 8 harps moving up to Sanctum to await the arrival of students and faculty tomorrow. Rehearsing this afternoon with Judy and Julia for the faculty concert on Sunday. Listening to Judy practicing this morning, I’m blown away by not only her classics but hearing her working on her improv for In the Mood was amazing!

Get ready for an amazing faculty concert! Pieces confirmed so far are Judy performing part of Schafer’s Crown of Ariadne and Salzedo’s Ballade and Gianetta playing Faure’s Impromptu. Those who attended CISHI 2014 will be excited to know that 3/4 of the Harp Chicks ensemble (ie. Judy, Julia and Gianetta) will be improvising in Julia’s own arrangements of In the Mood and Heart and Soul!

This will be a public, ticketed event so family, friends, harp afficionados will have the opportunity to attend as well as, of course all registered CISHI 2017 students.

It’s an intimate venue so there will only be 45 tickets available – first come, first served. Process for purchase of tickets will be announced by mid-June.

We have now finalized the dates for the 2017 CISHI program – July 21-28, 2017. Program and Registration pages will be updated with full details as soon as possible. Student registration opens January 1st, 2017. Stay tuned for more exciting updates as they come in!

Thank you for your support and participation in the program.

We have opened the CISHI blog where you can discover news about CISHI related events. You will be able to stay on track with the latest details about the program as well as relevant events students may want to be following.

Please comment on the various posts if you would like to get involved in the community!
